About

Isle of Wight Photographic Society (IWPS) was established in 1945 although there is some evidence that the Society had its origins in the late 19th century.

We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Arreton Community Hub, via Zoom or a combination of both, depending upon the activity. Our season runs from September to May and, in addition, we get together for photo meets throughout the summer. The IWPS programme includes projected image and print competitions, practical sessions, both with camera and editing, photowalks, opportunities for sharing, speakers and presentations. We are a member of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation and, as such enter the project image league and the annual exhibition and championships.

We hold annual exhibitions at Ryde Library and Brading Roman Villa. From time to time we offer support to voluntary and community organisations, our currently we are working with Brading Roman Villa, Newport Minster and Dimbola Museum and Gallery.
